Our building dates back to the late 17th century, originally serving as a coaching inn. But the site’s roots go even deeper: it once housed the guest quarters of a Medieval monastery. Over a thousand years later, our purpose remains the same – to offer a warm welcome, hearty food and drink, and a space to rest and recharge
Whether you’re enjoying a real ale in our cosy lounge bar, catching the match in our vibrant sports bar, or dining with friends in our historic dining rooms, we aim to delight through every detail. The pub serves freshly prepared meals daily – from breakfast to dinner – and caters to all occasions, including private or corporate events and bespoke functions.
The Swan also boasts a large garden with two traditional “Aunt Sally” pitches and stylish en-suite bedrooms, making us a perfect base for exploring Oxford, the Cotswolds, Bicester Shopping Village, and Blenheim Palace. We are also ideally placed for trips to the ancient west country Roman city of Bath or the pre-historic ruins of Stonehenge.Rooted in tradition, driven by care – we offer hospitality with heart.

But it’s his humour and mimicry that guests remember most – Kad keeps the bar buzzing with laughter and lively banter. A natural entertainer, he brings joy to every shift and keeps spirits high in more ways than one. When not working at the bar, Kad can be found enjoying Guiness or preparing for his next psychology practical – his other passion.
