Welcome to The Swan, a historic pub and boutique hotel nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds in the ancient village of Eynsham – just five miles from the world-famous university city of Oxford. More than just a place to eat, drink, or sleep, The Swan is a place of comfort, community, and connection – a timeless haven for locals and travellers alike.

Our building dates back to the late 17th century, originally serving as a coaching inn. But the site’s roots go even deeper: it once housed the guest quarters of a Medieval monastery. Over a thousand years later, our purpose remains the same – to offer a warm welcome, hearty food and drink, and a space to rest and recharge.

Whether you’re enjoying a real ale in our cosy lounge bar, catching the match in our vibrant sports bar, or dining with friends in our historic dining rooms, we aim to delight through every detail. The pub serves freshly prepared meals daily – from breakfast to dinner – and caters to all occasions, including private or corporate events and bespoke functions.

The Swan also boasts a large garden with two traditional “Aunt Sally” pitches and stylish en-suite bedrooms, making us a perfect base for exploring Oxford, the Cotswolds, Bicester Shopping Village, and Blenheim Palace. We are also ideally placed for trips to the ancient west country Roman city of Bath or the pre-historic ruins of Stonehenge.
